Happy New Year + Travel Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone’s 2018 started with a bang, and on the right foot. It’s so crazy to think that we’re closer to 2030 than we are to 2000. But anyway, as with each new year comes New Year’s Resolutions. I’ve been reading a lot of posts lately about how people no longer do resolutions, as they usually end up lost and forgotten throughout the year. Instead, they aim for affirmations or goals. Whatever you decide to call them, I think they are a great way to help shape your year into what you want it to be. Today, I’m sharing my travel resolutions for the new year!

2017 Year Highlights

2017 is coming to an end, and 2018 is about to begin. How crazy is that?! Before heading into the new year, I decided I wanted to look back on this past year and see my 2017 year highlights. Come check it out!

Can you believe it? 2017 is coming to an end, and 2018 is about to begin. Although I started my blog back in 2016, at the beginning of 2017 was when I really decided to start taking it more seriously. I did a lot of research, joined several Facebook groups, and really dedicated a lot of time and effort into Life with Larissa. I know I still have a long way to go before my blog is where I would like it to be, but I’m beyond happy with the progress I have made so far. Not only have I made strides in my blog, but I’ve also met some really cool bloggers, done numerous collaborations, and started my own travel blogging Facebook group! Let’s take a look back at the 2017 year highlights: Continue reading “2017 Year Highlights”

Osaka and Kyoto

Rounding out my Japan posts, is my post about our two day trips to Osaka and Kyoto. I wish we could have spent more time in these beautiful cities; however, I am grateful for the time that we did have! We had the opportunity to eat delicious food, experience the beautiful colors of fall, and take in the exquisite sights in the cities. Come along with me, as I share our day and pictures! If you would like the comprehensive recount of our travels, start on our Tokyo trip first! Continue reading “Osaka and Kyoto”

Takin’ on Tokyo

I couldn’t believe when the plane tickets to Japan were purchased. It was so surreal to me that I was actually flying across the world to go to my first Asian country. My travel partners – Vika, a longtime friend since middle school, and her boyfriend, Telal – were also so excited as well. We were heading to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto! MariCar Tour in Tokyo

Disclosure: I did receive a discounted price for promising to write a blog post about MariCar Tour; however, these are my honest opinions about my experience.

If you’re anything like me, you grew up playing Nintendo and a slew of various Mario games. You either battled opponents on Super Mario Smash Brothers, or you fought to have the highest number of stars on Mario Party, or you raced through the streets of various courses on Mario Kart. I did all three, and then some; however, in my house, it was always a battle between my brother, my sister, and I on who was the fastest racer on Mario Kart. We practiced for hours on end so we could beat the other two and claim the glory of being the speediest in the home. Mario Kart definitely stemmed some friendly competition between us three, and it grew to be a love we all shared throughout our childhood. So I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I found out I could do on a MariCar Tour while in Japan! Continue reading “MariCar Tour in Tokyo”

Photo Essay of Japan

Remember when I informed you guys that I was going to Japan? Well, it happened over Thanksgiving break! It was my first time visiting an Asian country, so I was a little nervous and anxious about what to expect. I didn’t speak or read the language. I did give Duolingo a try, but it didn’t help me out too much.  Turns out though, I had nothing to worry about. The trip went pretty smoothly, and we only got lost a handful of times! I have so many stories from our trip, but to kick off my Japan posts, I put together a photo essay of Japan to share some of my favorite pictures! Continue reading “Photo Essay of Japan”
