Top Things to Do in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China. Although Hong Kong is technically a part of China, it falls under the ‘one country; two systems’ philosophy. The laws, the regulations, and even the currency are different from the mainland.

Hong Kong, meaning Fragrant Harbour, got its name due to the incense being burned at temples and letting off a pleasant aroma. The city is one of the world’s most densely populated areas, which means when you find out that it’s also the world’s most vertical city it shouldn’t be a surprise. Approximately 8,000 skyscrapers dominate the city, helping to house the 7.4 million residents.

Although I did not have the chance to spend a lot of time in Hong Kong, I was able to see and experience some pretty neat things. Below you’ll find my recommendations listed alphabetically!

Travel Blogs vs. Travel Vlogs

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well 🙂 Today, I wanted to talk about travel blogs vs. travel vlogs. I started my blog about two years ago. I was excited to share my adventures and travels with family, friends, and anyone interested in reading. The inspiration for starting my blog though, was encouragement from a friend to start vlogging. I’ve been giving this topic, travel blogs vs. travel vlogs, a lot of thought lately, and I wanted to share what was on my mind.

Happy New Year + Travel Resolutions

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone’s 2018 started with a bang, and on the right foot. It’s so crazy to think that we’re closer to 2030 than we are to 2000. But anyway, as with each new year comes New Year’s Resolutions. I’ve been reading a lot of posts lately about how people no longer do resolutions, as they usually end up lost and forgotten throughout the year. Instead, they aim for affirmations or goals. Whatever you decide to call them, I think they are a great way to help shape your year into what you want it to be. Today, I’m sharing my travel resolutions for the new year!

2017 Year Highlights

2017 is coming to an end, and 2018 is about to begin. How crazy is that?! Before heading into the new year, I decided I wanted to look back on this past year and see my 2017 year highlights. Come check it out!

Can you believe it? 2017 is coming to an end, and 2018 is about to begin. Although I started my blog back in 2016, at the beginning of 2017 was when I really decided to start taking it more seriously. I did a lot of research, joined several Facebook groups, and really dedicated a lot of time and effort into Life with Larissa. I know I still have a long way to go before my blog is where I would like it to be, but I’m beyond happy with the progress I have made so far. Not only have I made strides in my blog, but I’ve also met some really cool bloggers, done numerous collaborations, and started my own travel blogging Facebook group! Let’s take a look back at the 2017 year highlights: Continue reading “2017 Year Highlights”

Osaka and Kyoto

Rounding out my Japan posts, is my post about our two day trips to Osaka and Kyoto. I wish we could have spent more time in these beautiful cities; however, I am grateful for the time that we did have! We had the opportunity to eat delicious food, experience the beautiful colors of fall, and take in the exquisite sights in the cities. Come along with me, as I share our day and pictures! If you would like the comprehensive recount of our travels, start on our Tokyo trip first! Continue reading “Osaka and Kyoto”

Takin’ on Tokyo

I couldn’t believe when the plane tickets to Japan were purchased. It was so surreal to me that I was actually flying across the world to go to my first Asian country. My travel partners – Vika, a longtime friend since middle school, and her boyfriend, Telal – were also so excited as well. We were heading to Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto!
