I was able to experience things I normally wouldn’t on my own, as well as learn from so many different people. Continue reading for the itinerary of the trip, a pros/cons list, and my overall impressions.

REVIEW: Sapphire Princess

The month of January was a whirlwind of adventure and exploration thanks to a 2-week cruise throughout Asia aboard the Sapphire Princess. The cruise started in Shanghai, China, visited various ports of call, and ended in Singapore. It was truly a trip of a lifetime being able to experience new cultures, people, and foods. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my time on the Sapphire Princess; however, I do have some comments that did not necessarily deter from my experience, but may influence others’ decisions to book a trip on this ship. Continue reading to learn my overall impressions of the Sapphire Princess!

Feature Friday: Meet Sweet Potato Cafe

When you think of a farm-to-table restaurant, what comes to mind? For me, I think of fresh, healthy foods. And for some reason, I always think of chickens running around in the back! Farm-to-table restaurants make me happy because I know I’m getting a meal filled with nutritious ingredients and I know I’ll be able to taste difference, as well as feel the difference after eating the meal.

MariCar Tour in Tokyo

Disclosure: I did receive a discounted price for promising to write a blog post about MariCar Tour; however, these are my honest opinions about my experience.

If you’re anything like me, you grew up playing Nintendo and a slew of various Mario games. You either battled opponents on Super Mario Smash Brothers, or you fought to have the highest number of stars on Mario Party, or you raced through the streets of various courses on Mario Kart. I did all three, and then some; however, in my house, it was always a battle between my brother, my sister, and I on who was the fastest racer on Mario Kart. We practiced for hours on end so we could beat the other two and claim the glory of being the speediest in the home. Mario Kart definitely stemmed some friendly competition between us three, and it grew to be a love we all shared throughout our childhood. So I’m sure you can imagine my excitement when I found out I could do on a MariCar Tour while in Japan! Continue reading “MariCar Tour in Tokyo”

REVIEW: The King and Prince – Beach & Golf Resort

As you may or may not have heard, I won a contest! And not just any contest, but the St. Simon’s Food + Spirits Festival Contest where I was able to go and experience new things. Even though this happened two weeks ago, I am still in shock that I, Larissa, won a travel contest! The grand prize package included:

  • accommodations for three nights at the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort
  • 2 VIP passes to the St. Simon’s Island Food + Spirits Festival
  • 2 passes to the St. Simon’s Lighthouse Museum
  • 2 VIP passes to Jekyll Island, including the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, Jekyll Island Museum Tram Tour, all day bike rental, 18-hole round of golf, and more!

Since we were able to do so much, I’ve decided to do several different blog posts, to make sure I cover everything! Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort, which we were able to stay at for three nights.  Continue reading “REVIEW: The King and Prince – Beach & Golf Resort”

REVIEW: Go Oahu City Card

Thinking about taking a trip to the island of Oahu? During your research you may have come across the Go Oahu City Card. Check out my thoughts on it!

The first week of April, I went on a trip to Hawaii, specifically the island of Oahu. While doing research and talking to my friends who live there, I thought maybe it’d be a good idea to try the Go Oahu City Card. I was meeting up with my friends, but they were working the first half of the week that we were there. So we decided to get the 3-day pass. It allowed us to explore the island ourselves the first half of the week, and the second half of the week, we spent with my friends. Before deciding to purchase this pass, I read up on some reviews regarding the pass, and the viewpoint went about 50/50 –positive vs. negative. I decided to take the leap of faith, and hoped that I would end up like someone with a positive review. This is my take on the Go Oahu City Card: Continue reading “REVIEW: Go Oahu City Card”

REVIEW: Carnival Ecstasy

Thinking about taking a cruise on the Carnival Ecstasy? Check out my review, which may help in the decision-making process!

Recently, I had a chance to get away and go enjoy the sun, the sand, and the surf. My best friend and I took a 5-day cruise to Half Moon Cay and Nassau aboard the Carnival Ecstasy. Overall, I enjoyed my time, and what’s not to love about being blessed enough to take a cruise to the Bahamas. Although I’m leaving with mostly positive memories, there are some things that I wasn’t too thrilled with. Let me break it down: Continue reading “REVIEW: Carnival Ecstasy”
