Accessibility at Disney World

Disclaimer: I am an able-bodied individual speaking on accessibility at Disney World.

It never even crossed my mind that I would be able to say I’ve been to Disney World more times than I can count! Okay, I haven’t been that much, but more than the once in a lifetime I was expecting. If interested, check out my previous Disney posts here, here, and here! The cool thing about returning to Disney is that each time I go, I learn something new! This time around, my friend Courtney shared with me about the accessibility at Disney World, and now I’d like to share it with you!

Disney World Adventures: Magic Kingdom & Animal Kingdom

Is there anything more magical than starting your day off at the happiest place on Earth? Okay, if we’re being honest – maybe waking up in Bora Bora, or the Maldives. But I think Disney World is pretty up there as well! I flew down to Orlando SUPER early morning, where one of my best friends came to pick me up. We headed to a delicious breakfast spot, then made our way Disney! As you may [or may not] know, Disney World is composed of four different parks: Magic Kingdom; Animal Kingdom; Epcot; and Hollywood Studios. We spent the day experiencing the first two – Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom!

Photo Shoot Attempt in Orlando

Travel blogging consists of a variety of aspects – some that I didn’t really think about when I entered into the blogging community. Not only do you have to possess a deep passion for travelling, you also have to incorporate the various aspects of social media, writing/editing skills, and of course, photography skills. For me, each day that I work on my blog consists of stepping out of my comfort zone, especially when it comes to my photography skills. Continue reading “Photo Shoot Attempt in Orlando”

A Day at the Kennedy Space Center

Are you a space fanatic? Do you love learning about other planets? Come check out my day at the Kennedy Space Center!

I’m down in Orlando, Florida for about a week visiting my cousin, and taking a vacation before everything starts back up in August. In searching for things we should do, we came across the Kennedy Space Center on GroupOn. We both were curious as to what this attraction had to offer, so we purchased tickets on Sunday morning, and headed about an hour away to Cape Canaveral to explore the Kennedy Space Center.

I’ll be honest – my expectations were high, as I’d only heard and read great things. This is important to note, as it might be part of the reason I feel the way I do. Continue reading “A Day at the Kennedy Space Center”

Universal Orlando for the Day

Welcome back to Life with Larissa! In the second part of the two-part series of our Florida trip, we focus on our trip to Universal! You can read about our trip to Disney the previous day here. So the day after Disney, my sister, Brit, and I headed to Universal Orlando with our cousin, JoJo, and her co-worker, Ashton. We had the park-to-park admission tickets, so we decided to tackle Islands of Adventure first. As you know, I’m not a roller coaster fan, so I hung out by my lonesome a couple of times while they all decided to ride the more thrilling rides. The first ride they rode was the Hulk. JoJo and Ashton tried to convince me to go on it, but after Ashton described it as ‘shooting us out’, I immediately declined. Continue reading “Universal Orlando for the Day”

Disney World for the Day

A few weekends ago, my sister, Brit, and I were able to travel to Orlando, Florida. We were meeting up with one of our long-time friends for one day, and staying with our cousin for the rest of the days. We also had the opportunity to visit both Disney World and Universal Studios while down there. It was my sister’s first time in both parks, so it was exciting to see her reactions while experiencing the parks. In this two part series of our adventures, you’ll read about our experiences at the parks! This post is dedicated to our time at Disney World! Continue reading “Disney World for the Day”

Feature Friday: Meet Courtney P.

What’s better than a Disney fanatic going to Disney? What about a Disney fanatic working at Disney?! Come learn about the DCP, professional internships, and behind-the-scenes of a Disney employee!

Orlando, Florida is home to the oh-so-famous theme park, Disney World.  Known as a haven for children and adult alike, there are so many experiences to be had at this amazing park. You don’t need to be a Disney enthusiast to enjoy all that Disney has to offer, but it sure wouldn’t hurt. I’ve known Courtney for about 10 years…give or take, and I have yet to find someone else who has such an affinity for Disney. Don’t get me wrong. I love Disney as much as the next guy, but her love for Disney is on a whole different level..a level I believe that can be shared by Disney employees.  It may look like all fun and games, but do we ever stop to think about all the hard work the employees have to do? Let’s find out what Courtney has to say about working at Disney! Continue reading “Feature Friday: Meet Courtney P.”
