A Holiday Weekend in Marietta

Holiday Weekend in Marietta

Disclosure: I did receive a giftcard to Stockyard, a giftcard to experience the Square, and two complimentary tickets to a holiday show at The Strand; however, these are my honest opinions about my experience!

Who doesn’t enjoy spending a fun-filled weekend with their loved ones during the holiday season? Marietta, Georgia is the perfect place to admire Christmas decorations, snack on sweet treats, indulge in delicious meals, and even enjoy a holiday show! Located in the metro-Atlanta area, downtown Marietta is ideally situated for those who live locally or who are passing through during holiday travels!

How cute are these orbs? So many families taking pictures with them in the background!

As we walked through the Marietta Square, we saw beautiful Christmas decorations. There are decorated trees, large blow-up nutcrackers, reindeer, presents, and so much more. We witnessed many families setting up for pictures, or in the middle of their family photo shoot. Some even included their pups in the shoot. Too adorable! Santa even has a house in the Square, so make sure to stop by and grab some pictures with him!

I love these glasses, and they have them in different states and cities!

While walking around, feel free to do some holiday shopping – whether that be window shopping or actual shopping. The Square has many options to find that perfect gift for either yourself or that special someone in your life. I stopped by a super cute shop called Doodlebugz. In the past, I have purchased these glasses for friends. I think they are super fun and cute! The Square has many other shops to browse as well, including art galleries if you’re looking to buy some paintings!

If you need a place to replenish, there are so many restaurant options of which to choose. Whether you’re looking for something a little bit more lowkey or if you’re looking for something a bit more fancier, the Square has it all! I stopped for a bite at Stockyard. You can wait to be seated, or snag a seat at the bar. I decided on a patty melt with fries, and the meal was filling. If burgers aren’t your thing, no worries. The Square has many dining options to satisfy all cravings. Ranging from pot pies to barbeque to pizza to Asian fusion to ramen and more, the Square has got you covered! You can even check out the relatively new food hall, which also houses so many different options!

Not to be confused with the ice cream parlour, SweeTreats [which is one of my personal favorites], the Marietta Square offers various spots to grab a sweet bite for those like me with a sweet tooth. My family and I stopped by Tiny Bubbles for some coffee to warm up for a bit. They also have different pastries, bubble tea, and even popcorn. Whether you’re in the mood for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cupcakes, cookies, or more – you will find what you’re looking for in the Square.
Side Note: The Marietta Square is home to Miss Mamie’s, a cupcake shop that won Food Network Channel’s Cupcake Wars!

holiday shows

Strand Tickets to the Holiday Show

The Marietta Square is home to several different theatres that put on holiday shows during the festive season. I was gifted two tickets to attend the Holiday Express: Letters to Santa Claus holiday show at The Strand Theatre, and it was a delight! Put on by the Bravo Dance Company, the show followed the adventures of the mailman and Santa Claus to the North Pole. Head to their site to see their upcoming shows. Attending one is the perfect way to bond with family and/or friends, and enjoy the celebration of the holiday season!
