[Gifted] I have officially been recruited 🕵🏾 [Gifted] I have officially been recruited 🕵🏾‍♀️ Somehow, my name ended up on the guest list for a night fo secrets, suspicious characters, and one very unfortunate (fictional) victim. I’ve never done a murder mystery dinner before, so naturally I’m going in with equal parts excitement and absolutely no idea what I’m doing. Will I uncover the truth? Will I accuse the wrong person? Am I actually the prime suspect?? 👀 There’s only one way to find out! Any chance to get out on the water, you can bet I’m there. That’s how I found myself kayaking down the Chattahoochee River with @peacenthewild (PITW). This organization prioritizes Black and brown people experiencing the outdoors in a safe and welcoming environment. We had people join who had never been kayaking before, who didn’t know how to swim, and/or who had never joined a PITW event before. The beautiful thing about community is that everyone was embraced for whatever part of the journey they were on. Tips were shared about calming nerves. Advice was given about navigating the kayaks. And at the end of the day, everyone had a great time! I’ve been to several PITW events and I’ll keep showing up to more! Make sure you follow them to learn about upcoming events in the metro-Atlanta area and beyond! (They hosted their first international trip recently!)
Finding spaces where Black travellers, divers, and Finding spaces where Black travellers, divers, and water lovers can show up, be curious, learn something new, and have a GOOD time together is something I’ll always appreciate and cherish. Huge thank you to Gabby of @blackgirlblueworld for bringing us together in Bonaire for Juneteenth 💙🩵 And to my fellow Black divers: keep frolicking in the water. There’s room for all of us down there 🌊🤿🫧✨
